2016 Liberty Bell: Oakley Prevails Over Gregory, Rock Canyon Over Albuquerque Academy

TOP MOMENTS OF THE MEET (3)

The Silver Creek Boys and Broomfield Girls score under 40!

Like the two boys races prior, only one runner in Division 2 went sub-16. Brock Dykema ran 15:58.5 in front of teammates in James Lee and John Moroney (photo, above) who took second and fourth respectively.

Dykema, Lee, and Moroney all have traded the top position on the squad through the first three meets. That internal competition seems to be working out for the Raptors as they scored just 39 points.

Speaking of 39 points...the Broomfield girls.

A 1-3-9-12-14 spread put Broomfield 70 points ahead of Laramie. The pack time may have been equally impressive, but Madison Mooney sailed to a Division 2 course near (correction) record of 17:48.8; an impressive mark for a runner who has never been sub-18.

Broomfield's Emily Zerrker and Emily Mitchem, the sixth and seventh runners on the team, placed 18th and 22nd, meaning Laramie's runners were displaced after only having two finishers.

Coach Greg Weich literally jumped for joy when he heard Mooney's time. Weich shared that the depth of the girls team is the greatest aspect of this season.

"My seventh girl from the State meet is running in the C race today. It'll be her first race in a long time. But yeah, the depth is the thing I'm psyched about."
