D&D Invitational-Worland High School

GENERAL INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS

PARKING

Please park in the middle school parking lot to the north of the stadium or in the back gym parking lot to the west of the stadium.

SCHOOL CLASSIFICATION

This is a Wyoming state sanctioned qualifying meet.  The meet will run as a one-class meet.

CHECK-IN/SCRATCHES

Qualifying and reporting forms will be available at the Storage Shed between the restrooms in the building west of the track at 11:30 am - 1:00 pm. Scratches should be made when packets are picked up and taken to the press box.  No additions will be made.

TRACK WARM-UP

The track will be available for warm-up upon arrival.  Team Camps can be set up on the bleachers or on the west side of the stadium.  Please no team camps on the infield. 

AWARDS

T-Shirts will be given to the winner of each individual event, and to the winners of each relay. 

VALUABLES

Washakie County School District #1 will not be responsible for any personal belongings or school items lost.

PARTICIPATION RULES

  • Entries are unlimited.  

  • The maximum number of events a contestant may enter shall be four (4).   

  • We will adhere to the 2024 NFHS Track & Field Rule Book.

ENTRIES

Entries will be unlimited in each event.  Entries will be available at the following:https://wy.milesplit.com/meets/610001-dandd-invitational-2024

There should be no password required.  Entries are due by Thursday, April 4th at 10:00 am.

SEEDING

Athletes will be heated and seeded according to actual or projected entry times. Please be as accurate or realistic as possible to be fair to all athletes.  There will be no finals in running events. Therefore, we need your help in placing the proper athlete in the appropriate heat.

REPORT TIME

Contestants must report 10 minutes before the event at the point of competition. Contestants not reporting on last call will be scratched. Athletes report to the North end of the track straightaway.

SPIKES

Spikes must be 1/8" or 3/16 pyramid spikes or running flats.

STARTING BLOCKS

Starting blocks will be furnished by meet management.

ENTRY FEE & TIMING

Each school will pay $150 for both their boys and girls team.  See attached invoice.  A FAT-LYNX Timing System will be used.

FIELD EVENTS - Weigh-Ins begin at 12:00 with ALL Field Events to Start at 1:30 pm

  • Weigh-ins for shot-puts and discus will be held in the back gym of the high school next to the throwing area beginning at 12:00.  All implements must be weighed and inspected.  

  • In the high jump and pole vault, each competitor will receive three (3) attempts at each height.  

  • Throwers will be placed in flights. Throwers will receive 2 attempts, throwing 2 in a row, then 1 additional attempt.  We will measure the further of the first two attempts.  The top 9 throwers qualify for finals and will receive 3 additional throws in reverse order.  

  • Triple jump and long jump competitors will receive 3 jumps, with the top 9 jumpers qualifying for finals and 3 additional jumps.     

  • Pole Vault:  Please give weigh-in sheets for poles to the official at the pole vault event.  

    • Boys Division  Starting Height- 96

    • Girls Division  Starting Height - 70

  • High Jump

    • Boys Division  Starting Height- 52

    • Girls Division  Starting Height- 43

FIELD EVENT SCHEDULEMost field events will be going on simultaneously.  Check in for all your field events between 12:30-1:15.      

These events begin at 1:30 pmwith the following order and locations.  

        Pole Vault   Girls first followed by Boys- East Side of the Track

        High Jump Girls on the East Mat, Boys on the West Mat (closer to bleachers)

        Shot Put    Boys first, followed by Girls (using farthest north & farthest south rings)

        Discus       Girls first, followed by Boys  (using both rings)

Long Jump     On the East Side farthest from the track- Girls jump to the north, Boys jump to the south

Triple Jump   On the West Side closest to the track- Girls jump toward the MS, Boys jump toward the scoreboard

RUNNING EVENT TIME SCHEDULE: 3:00 pm, rolling schedule 

All events will be timed finals.  Girls will run each race first, followed by boys, although we may combine events if necessary. We will use a rolling schedule-competitors need to listen to the PA system for 1st, 2nd and final calls.  Team scoring will be the traditional 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.
