ENTRY DEADLINE: PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE ENTRIES WILL BE MADE ON MILESPLIT WEBSITE IS https://www.milesplit.com/. PLEASE USE THIS SITE TO REGISTER YOUR ATHLETES. You find where to enter your athletes. The name of the meet is Wyoming State Cross Country Meet 2022.

ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY MONDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2022 by 4:00. Please enter the appropriate grade level for each athlete.

TEAM PICTURES: Please email a color and identified team picture to Keith Bauder at keith.bauder@wyo4life.net. By noon Oct. 7, 2022. It would be great to get these pictures prior to the 7th if possible.

PARKING: All buses will park up by the bus barn and we will have people directing you and a map. We will use the main parking lot on the high school pavement (200) spaces. Once that is full we will move to the grass area over by the west side of the football field. Then in the grass area by the shed when you first come into the school. We will have parking attendants showing where to go.

CHECK IN: Team packets may be picked up by the coaches Friday, October 21, 2022 at the team meal located at the Wyoming Indian High School Gym or at the coaches meeting on Saturday morning at the Tech Center. Packets will include course maps, lot assignments, programs, contestant number and meet instructions. Please read all the material carefully and pass the information along to all the athletes.

DRESSING ROOMS: Dressing room facilities will not be provided at the course. Teams should dress at their motel. If you desire showering facilities after the race, they will be available at Wyoming Indian High School. There will be portable restrooms at the course.

HOSPITALITY: We will be providing lunch and refreshments for coaches, workers and bus drivers on sight. This will be in the Tech Center.

COACHES MEETING: There will be a voluntary head coaches meeting at 8:45 AM in the tech center. The hospitality room will also be there also. You can pick up your coaches packets there if you never picked them the night before. A review of instructions for coaches and runners concerning (bibs, camera, 30 minute to appeal) to finish procedures will take place. The Wyoming Coaches Association Representative, will hold a brief coaches meeting to address any concerns you may have.

STARTING TIMES:

  1. 4A Girls- 10:30 a.m.

  2. 3A Girls- 11:00 a.m.

  3. 2A Girls - 11:30 a.m.

  4. 4A Boys- 12:15 a.m.

  5. 3A Boys- 12:45 p.m.

  6. 2A Boys- 1;15 p.m.

RULES: The rules and regulations governing the State High School Cross Country Championships are found in the National Federation Edition of Track and Field Rules.

COURSE MARKINGS: The course will be marked using flags, cones. It is your responsibility to see that each of your runners know the course.

Review of the Course: The path will be the mowed area if you are in long grass you are off the course. We will have cones to mark hazards. We will have marshals around the course. You may review the course from 2:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 23th until 10:00 a.m.

CONTESTANT NUMBERS: Numbers will be provided by Competitive Timing and are to be worn on the front of the uniform. Do not wrinkle them up, you will damage the chip.

ADMISSION: There will be a charge of $5 adults and $3 children. We will be using GO Fan and a cash line.

STARTING LINE ASSIGNMENTS: Starting line assignments drawn by a lot will be in your team packet.

COURSE: Each race will be 5,000 meters. Marshals will be throughout the course as well as a trail cart to assist any runner in distress.

Girls Overall Course Record: Ryann Smith Rawlins HS 19:17.8

Boys Overall Course Record: Owen Burnett Mountain View HS 16:11.5

MEDICAL: There will be a trainer, nurse, and ambulance on site to assist you in your medical needs on the West tent.

FINISH AND TIMING SYSTEM: Competitive Timing will be the same one we used at the Pre Invite. We will have the bibs in your coaches packet. Please give the right bib to the right person, because it is linked to their system.

RESULTS: Will be available at the finish line at the completion of each race.

AWARDS: Awards will be presented after the conclusion of the last race on the Awards stand that will be by the Competitive Timing tent. Awards are provided by the WHSAA and will be presented by Trevor Wilson, State Farm Agent, and Keith Bauder, Meet Director.

Cody Beers will be giving highlights on Wyotoday.com. He will give highlights of the race and the finish of each race. You will see as the runners come through the finish line.

To Fans and Athletes:

The Wind River Inter-Tribal Council (WRITC) requires that all individuals wear a mask covering entirely both the nose and mouth while inside or at outdoor gatherings.

This order pertains to athletes, coaches, workers and spectators. Athletes may remove their face covering while on the court, field, or racing.
