2026 Wind River MS Track Meet
Coaches,
We are excited to host the 2026 Wind River Middle School Track Meet! Our meet will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, in Pavillion on the Wind River High School track. Field events will start at 9:30 and running events will begin at 11:00.
Schools Invited: Arapahoe, Dubois, Ft. Washakie, HEM, Riverton, St. Stephens, Trinity, WIMS, Saratoga
Entry Fee: The entry fee will be $50.00 per school. We will trade entry fees with other schools that host track meets we attend.
Entries: Entries will be done on milesplit.com. All Entries are due by Thursday at 2:00. We will heat the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 55 hurdles, 100 hurdles, and 200 hurdles based on top performers from each school. Please try to use the MileSplit times from the previous Track Meet or from the previous year. Please enter a time for all athletes to avoid heats of only one school.
If you have more than one relay team, please label your first relay A, your second relay B, and/or your next relay C.
Entry Limit: Each participant will be limited to five (5) events. This includes at least one relay. A runner may run in no more than three (3) events over 400 meters, including relays.
Milesplit: All entries must be done on milesplit.com. Entries will be shut down on Thursday,
April 16, at 2:00 p.m. After that no entries will be allowed, scratches only. When you go into milesplit.com, go to the Wind River MS Invitational Track meets. There is one meet for the MS (7th and 8th grade) and one meet for the Youth (5th and 6th grade).
IMPORTANT: On Friday morning, it is a SCRATCH ONLY meeting. You cannot ADD anyone to an event, even if you scratch someone and replace them with another athlete. Coaches meeting will be at 8:45 in the crows nest.
High Jump Starting heights: Youth Girls - 32Junior High Girls - 38
Youth Boys - 36 Junior High Boys - 42
Field Events: We are going to run two shot put and two discus rings. Because we will be running all 4 rings and 4 horizontal pits and two vertical pits we are going to ask coaches for some help in running events. Hopefully this will help us get through the field events quickly. We will put a minimum distance for shot and disc for measuring.
LONG/TRIPLE JUMPS: Competitors will have three (3) jumps scored as finals.
SHOT PUT AND DISCUS
Youth (5th/6th grade) will throw a 6 lb. shot
Junior High (7th/8th grade) will throw an 8 lb. shot.
Everyone will throw a 1.0 kg discus.
Competitors will make all three throws consecutively
We will provide the Shot and Discus to be used
RUNNING EVENTS: (JH Girls events 1st, then followed by JH Boys, then Yth Girls/Yth Boys)

General: A concession stand and restrooms are available during the meet. Locker rooms will not be opened. We would also greatly appreciate your help in picking up the garbage around the track after the meet is over!!
TEAM CAMPS:
No camps will be allowed on the football field. Camps may be on the grass on the west side of the track. Coaches are responsible for monitoring and cleaning up your team camp. Trash bags can be obtained from the crows nest.
