WORLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL TRIANGULAR - Ten Sleep, Thermopolis, & Worland

START TIMES:

Coaches Meeting:  2:00 PM  (Band Room)

Workers Meeting:  2:30 PM  (Band Room)

Field Events:  3:00 PM  (All Finals)

Running Events: 4:00 PM  (All Finals)

ENTRIES: All entries must be in MileSplit by March 31st @ 7am, additions will not be allowed after 7am on the day of the meet.  The meet is titled Worland Middle School Triangular, there is a password being sent to the AD's of each school attending.  Please make changes prior to leaving your school.  Scratches must be made ASAP when you arrive in the concession stand.

  • Athletes may enter a maximum of four (4) events.

  • Unlimited entries per team/per event.

  • There will be NO RELAYS.  

EVENT CLASSES: 6th Girls, 6th Boys, 7th Girls, 7th Boys, 8th Girls and 8th Boys.

AWARDS:  No awards will be given at this meet.

UNIFORMS: Team issued tops and bottoms must be worn while competing in all events.  Visible undergarments must be unadorned and of a single, solid color.  Spikes may be worn but must be no longer than a 3/16 pyramid spike.

LOCKER ROOMS:  Locker rooms will not be available.

RESTROOMS:  Are available next to the concession stand and inside the CTE wing of the high school.  

CONCESSIONS:  No concessions available.  

TEAM CAMPS: Team camps will not be allowed on the infield.  Please locate team camps in the bleachers or in the grass behind the stadium bleachers.  Coaches, please make sure your team camp areas are cleaned up. 

COACHES: May be asked to help run some field events.  Please see the attached workers schedule and find event materials in the concession stand upon arrival.

HOSPITALITY: Hospitality will be in the band room and is available for workers, coaches and bus drivers ONLY please. 

BUS PARKING:  Please park in the south parking lot behind our high schools back gym, or in the parking lot north of the track between the middle school and central office.  

Running Events: All races will be timed finals.  The order for all track events will go as follows: 6th Girls, 7th Girls, 8th Girls, 6th Boys, 7th Boys, 8th Boys 

Running Events start at 4:00 PM      

1600 M Run 

100 M Hurdles (All at 30 except 8th boys at 33)

100 M Dash 

400 M Dash

200 M Hurdles

800 M Run

200 M Dash

Field Events start at 3:00 PM

Athletes in the Horizontal Jumps will be given 3 attempts.  There will be a cut line at 8' and 10' on the long jump pit and 10' and 12' on the triple jump pit- jumps under 10' or 12' will not be measured for 7th & 8th grade, jumps under 8' or 10' will not be measured for 6th grade.  If a pit opens up, we will move the next group over to that open pit- please listen for announcements.  All attempts are finals.

Boys Long Jump (East Pit, Facing the MS)  7th Boys, followed by 8th, then 6th

Girls Long Jump (West Pit, Facing the MS)  7th Girls, followed by 8th, then 6th

Boys Triple Jump (East Pit, Facing the Bus Barn)  8th Boys, followed by 6th, then 7th

Girls Triple Jump (West Pit, Facing the Bus Barn)  8th Girls, followed by 6th, then 7th

3:00 PM Vertical Jumps

Boys High Jump (East Pit)  6th followed by 7th followed by 8th 

Girls High Jump (West Pit)  6th followed by 7th followed by 8th

Starting Heights in the HJ are as follows:

Boys: 6th - 3-4     Boys 7th - 4-2     Boys 8th - 4-6

Girls: 6th - 3-2     Girls 7th - 3-6      Girls 8th - 3-8

Pole Vault   ALL GIRLS begin at 3:00 PM   ALL BOYS following girls

* We will run the event as if it were one boys and one girls competition.

* The pole vault will be a 5 Alive format for each gender 6-7-8th grade.

* We will separate out results for team scoring by grade level.

* Starting Height will be 5-0 for girls and 6-0 for boys

3:00 PM Throwing Events

Athletes in the Throwing Events will be given 3 consecutive attempts- all legal throws will be marked and only the furthest measured.  The athlete needs to have three implements ready to throw- WMS will have extra implements.  All attempts are finals.  

Shot Girls (South Ring) 6th Girls, 7th Girls, 8th Girls
