What Cross Country Means to Me

Owen Preston  -- Cody

It's now going to be my 7th year of cross country, and the reason I keep doing it is because it's not like other sports. Cross country makes you push yourself to a point of extreme uncomfortableness. But being able to come back the next day and see improvement, not only in races but in practice, is undefinable. Being in the best shape of your life, getting a new PR, suffering through the pain with your team, are just a few reasons to why I do it. Cross country is physically and mentally demanding in every way. But overall, cross country isn't a sport. It's a test of how hard you can push yourself and how much pain you can intake.
