2017 Arvada West Invitational: Siles Dominates Again

Small School Notes

On the boys side of things, Skyview Academy led the 3A and smaller schools with a sixth place finish at 188 points. Senior Ryan Butler led the way in 9th at 17:01 followed by Jimmy Scavuzzo at 17:25. The asterisk on the Skyview Academy 6th place finish goes by the name of Tyler Scholl, the transfer free-agent varsity-athlete-to-be. Scholl wiped the floor of the JV race running 17:09. Subtract roughly fifty points from the Skyview Academy total and things get a little more interesting. Skyview Academy with Scholl in the mix moves up to 2nd or 3rd place depending on how things shake out.

D'Evelyn girls continued what is shaking out as an excellent season on Friday afternoon. D'Evelyn is right in the mix to take home some serious hardware from the 3A state meet next month. The Jaguars led by the freshman Haerbig sisters went 8-9-13-16-34 for 80 points planting themselves firmly in third place between 5A Legacy and 5A Denver East. If the Jaguars can close the 4-5 gap, they will be difficult for anyone to contend with.
