Sam Bowers, Milton (Georgia)
Bowers is the No. 1 runner on one of the nation's emerging cross country teams -- Milton is currently No. 18 on the Flo50 top 25. Not surprisingly, his performances are starting to stand out among the country's elite. He scored a US No. 3 time of 15:00.78 at the Bob Blastow Early Bird Invitational on Aug. 26, and then came back and earned an even bigger victory at the Knights Cross XC Invitational in Virginia, landing Milton an impressive team result.
Just a few days later, Bowers' team was nationally ranked. A year ago, Bowers won a Georgia High School Association title and then scored another in the 3200m in the spring.
