This Week's Nominees:
Dorothy Jensen, Laramie High School (Wyoming): Ran 18:31.12 for 1st place among 70 finishers in the 5K at Legacy Lightning Invitational. The mark is No. 21 of 4,345 athletes overall in MileSplit's database at this course since 2008. It is also No. 9 of 1,379 junior athletes in MileSplit's database at this course since 2008.
Karee Cooley, Powell High School (Wyoming): Winning the Warrior XC Invitational in a 5K time of 19:16.64, she finished first among 56 runners and built a 23-second margin by the finish. The result also chopped 1.9 seconds off a previous clocking at Green Hills Golf Club, and now ranks No. 8 of 521 athletes in MileSplit's database at that course since 2012, No. 5 among seniors there.
Alexis Teschendorf, Natrona County High School (Wyoming): A 5K time of 19:10.03 was good for first place out of 42 finishers at the Shana Ward Memorial, 17.3 seconds clear of second. It stands as the fastest junior mark in MileSplit's database at Saratoga Inn GC since 2013, and ranks No. 2 overall among 403 athletes on that course list.
Rylee Tromble, Kelly Walsh High School (Wyoming): The Glenrock XC Invitational produced a 31.4-second victory margin, with a 5K time of 20:06.90 earning first place among 41 finishers. That effort places No. 8 of 250 athletes in MileSplit's database at Glenrock High School since 2009, and No. 3 among sophomores on that same list.
Lillyan James, Newcastle High School (Wyoming): Eighty runners lined up at the Rapid City Invitational High School Cross Country Meet, and a 5K time of 20:33.80 was enough for first place and a 36.3-second gap over the field. The time ranks No. 106 of 711 athletes in MileSplit's database at Hart Ranch Resort since 2018, with a No. 25 standing among freshmen there.
