POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State track and field is on the road for the second week this season as they head to the Jacksons Invitational hosted by Boise State. The meet is February 6-7 in Nampa, Idaho at the Jackson's Indoor Track. Events are set to begin Friday at 3:00 p.m. with the weight throw and the 3,000 meter. On Saturday events are set to begin at 10:25 a.m. with the 60 meter dash.
BENGAL WOMEN TO WATCH Shayla Neibaur led the Bengals on the first day of the Mountain States Games January, 30 at Holt Arena with her first place finish in the pentathlon. Neibaur scored 3,392 points, a Big Sky qualifying standard.
MaKenzie Gunter trailed Neibaur in second with a Big Sky qualifying standard of 3,350 points and a personal best in the shot put with a distance of 35-03.75.
Freshman
Presli Hutchison finished first in the 5,000 meter with a time of 17:41.34, a Big Sky qualifying time. Hutchison finished first in the mile on the second day of the Mountain States Games with a time of 5:17.79.
BENGAL MEN TO WATCH Idaho State senior
Logan Henderson placed first, qualified for the Big Sky Indoor Championships and is ranked 16 in the nation for his heptathlon score of 5,331 points at the Mountain State Games Saturday, January 31 in Holt Arena. His win was highlighted by his first place finish in the 60 meter hurdles (8:49), and the 1,000 meter (2:34.61).
Billy Phillips followed in third in the heptathlon with a Big Sky qualifying score of 4,938 points. Phillips placed first in the shot put with a distance of 14.32 meters and second in the pole vault (4.50 meters).
Deante Gaines placed first in the high jump (1.98m) and the triple jump with a Big Sky qualifying mark of 14.06 meters.
