Isaiah Claiborne beat Ben Bulkeley in the 1K at the NY State Meet to move up to US #3 in that event. He's had strong performances all season in the mid distance races and his team is still one of the fastest in the 4x800m.

Sondre Guttormsen remains in the rankings for now, but after an injury over the weekend, his standing depends on whether or not he'll compete at nationals. But it's doesn't look good. Hope he's back tearing up the outdoor season soon.

KC Lightfoot begins to move up because it looks like Mondo will not compete and Guttormsen is injured. Lightfoot has a good chance to win a national title.

EXPLAINING MILESPLIT50:
These are subjective rankings of the top 50 athletes across all indoor track and field events. Feel free to reach out to MileSplit via email (travis.miller@flosports.tv) or on Twitter (@milesplit or @TravisMillerFlo)
Here are the attributes MileSplit considered when ranking athletes (in no particular order):
- IAAF points for ballpark numbers to compare performances across different events
- PRs
- Returning indoor track & field rankings
- Significant wins/results in previous indoor seasons
- More weight on "championship" events (I took stats and performances from ALL events into consideration, but championship events are more important at the national level)
- Participation in relays
- 2018 indoor track & field results
- Indoor competition frequency (these are rankings for indoor track & field, not necessarily the best all around XC/indoor/outdoor athletes)
